Cookie Policy
1. What This Policy Covers
This policy explains the cookies and similar browser-storage technologies that savaraworld.com actually uses, what each one is for, who sets it, and how you can change your choice. It is a companion to our Privacy Policy, which covers personal data more broadly; where the two overlap, this page gives the detail and the Privacy Policy gives the summary. This inventory reflects the technologies present in the website's code as checked when this page was last updated; it is not guaranteed to remain exhaustive if the website changes afterwards.
2. Cookies and Local Storage Are Different Things
A cookie is a small file a website or a script running on it can ask your browser to store and send back on later requests. Local storage is a separate, similar browser mechanism: data saved in your browser that stays on your device and is never automatically sent anywhere. Savara World's own code does not set any cookies directly. Two of the technologies below use local storage rather than a cookie; Google Analytics, once you accept it, sets its own cookies through its own script. We call out which is which below rather than using "cookie" loosely for both.
3. Essential Website Functionality
Savara does not currently use an account or session system, so the website does not currently set any strictly necessary cookies of its own. The site's menu, search, and offer-browsing features work using ordinary page scripts and do not depend on a cookie or on local storage to function.
4. Optional: Google Analytics
If you accept analytics from the consent banner, Google Analytics sets its own cookies through the Google script it loads: a cookie named _ga, used to distinguish visitors, and a cookie named _ga_<container-id>, used to persist session state. Google's own developer documentation lists a default lifetime of two years for both (developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/ga4/tag-options, accessed 10 October 2026). Our own code does not override this default (it does not set a custom cookie_expires value), so this two-year figure reflects what our implementation actually uses, not merely a general claim about Google Analytics elsewhere.

Ads, remarketing, and ad-personalisation signals are never enabled, regardless of your analytics choice. Google Analytics does not load, and no related cookie is set, until you actively choose "Accept."
5. Your Consent Preference
Your choice to accept or reject analytics is remembered using local storage, not a cookie, under the key savaraAnalyticsConsent. This is set by Savara's own code, stays on your device, is never sent to our servers or anyone else's, and persists until you change it or clear your browser's site data.

6. Spotted Local Storage
The Spotted feature saves the deals you post, and the votes and comments you make, in your own browser's local storage so the board displays correctly on your device. This is not a cookie, is not shared with other visitors or devices, and is unrelated to your analytics choice.

7. Third-Party Pages Outside Savara's Own Implementation
Subscribing to our newsletter takes place on a page hosted by beehiiv, not on savaraworld.com itself. beehiiv's own page may set its own cookies, governed by beehiiv's own policy rather than this one. We do not control, and have not audited, beehiiv's cookie behaviour on its own hosted page.
8. Managing Your Choice
You can accept or reject analytics, or change an earlier choice in either direction, at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer of any page. Withdrawing a previous acceptance stops future analytics collection and removes the Google Analytics cookies named above where your browser allows us to do so; it does not, and cannot, recall data already sent before you withdrew, and it cannot un-load a script that has already started running earlier in the same page visit. You can also control cookies directly through your browser's own settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites that use it with Google's own browser add-on, at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy if the technologies we use change. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do.
